I always enjoyed drawing in pencil when I was younger, got “As" all the way through high school but never attempted painting until I attended a fine arts class at Kean University. It was there that other students in my class asked me if I was matriculating as an art major! I was not... it was just a hobby!
However, it wasn’t until much later that I started to reconnect to my talent. I signed up to attend watercolor art classes held in the evenings at a local community center. There I learned several different technics and started painting more and more of my own work. As I shared my paintings with family, friends and co-workers everyone suggested that I should sell my work.
The majority of my artwork is in watercolor, however I have done some acrylic art pieces as well. This piece I did as a gift for a previous manager whose father was an artist & had passed. I depicted him painting Barmouth Bay in England. THIS IS NOT FOR SALE
To my amazement I discovered that my Mother was in fact an artist herself. Her art talents were only discovered in her 70s when she took a free art class in her community! She then created several beautiful acrylic paintings before her transition from this Life.
So here I am today realizing I inherited my talents from my Mother and am truly inspired to accomplish a dream I'm sure my Mother wished that she could!
